Rosalia Di Maggio è nata a Carini (PA) nel 1984.
Ha studiato pittura presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, città in cui ha avuto modo di apprendere l’arte orafa presso una piccola bottega, ha partecipato a diverse mostre collettive e personali di pittura e video arte. Ha illustrato alcuni racconti tra cui “Come ape e fiore” editato da Navarra editore, “Donde van los gatos cuando llueve”, Kala ediciones (Argentina) e “Buscando el Norte”, di Sebastian Torres (Argentina).
Fin da piccola ha un particolare interesse per la magia, l’alchimia, la metafisica e la ricerca interiore che ha avuto modo di approfondire durante la crescita e che sta alla base dei suoi lavori.
Dal 2011 al 2016 ha vissuto in Argentina in cui ha frequentato vari corsi come quello di Fileteado Porteño, antica tecnica di decorazione tipica della città di Buenos Aires e un corso di stop motion animation presso lo studio Canas Verdes. Sono stati i diversi viaggi nel Nord-Ovest argentino e la permanenza presso una comunità nativa del luogo, la parte chissà più formativa del suo percorso, fonte di ispirazione per le suo opere successive. Attualmente lavora a diversi progetti di animazione e illustrazione e frequenta il biennio specialistico di tecniche di animazione digitale presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo.

Rosalia Di Maggio was born in Carini (PA) in 1984. She studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, where she also had the opportunity to learn goldsmithing at a small workshop. She has participated in several collective and solo exhibitions of painting and video art. She has illustrated several stories including "Come ape e fiore" published by Navarra editore, "Donde van los gatos cuando llueve" by Kala ediciones (Argentina), and "Buscando el Norte" by Sebastian Torres (Argentina). Since childhood, she has had a particular interest in magic, alchemy, metaphysics, and inner research, which she has deepened throughout her life and which underpins her work. From 2011 to 2016, she lived in Argentina where she attended various courses, including Fileteado Porteño, an ancient decorative technique typical of the city of Buenos Aires, and a stop motion animation course at Canas Verdes studio. Her travels in the Argentine Northwest and her stay with a native community there were perhaps the most formative part of her journey, a source of inspiration for her subsequent works. She is currently working on various animation and illustration projects and attending the specialized two-year program in digital animation techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo.
